Author Interview – CM Doporto

Here is the interview that I did with author  CM Doporto who is part of the “FangTastic’s Book Mixer Event! Her slots are Jan. 29th – 31st 9-10pm EASTERN! Thank you Michelle for taking the time to do the interview with me and for being an apart of the event!

How long have you considered yourself an author?
I’ve been a published author since January of 2013 – so that would be the official date.

How many books do you currently have out and please list titles per each genre?
I have 6 books and 1 short story. The Eslites (short story/prequel), The Eslites, The Arrival, Element, Part 1 and Part 2, Opposing Sides, The Same Side and The Winning Side.

Of all of the books that you have written which was the hardest to write for you and why?
I guess Element because it was my first story and I rewrote it three times.

What do you find to be the most rewarding thing about being an author?
Receiving messages or post that a reader loved one of my books.

If you could give you’re yourself a piece of advice when it comes to your author career what would it be and why? To be patient and don’t get discouraged.

What do you think is the one hardship that most authors face and what ways do you suggest they do to deal with it as best as possible?
Not seeing the sales after you spent a lot of time writing, editing and paying for an editor and cover design artist. So when that happens, try and discover what is causing it – is it the story, the writing, changes in the industry, the marketing? There are so many pieces to the puzzle but it’s worth figuring out as long as you believe in your story.

If you could have dinner with any author past or present and could only ask them one question who would it be and what would you ask them?
Colleen Hoover – and ask for any advice she’d be willing to give me.

If you could have your dream home built anywhere in the world where would it be and why?
I’ve always wanted a beach house, so probably Destin or Panama City Beach, FL.

If you were to guess how you readers would describe you in three words what would they be?
Outgoing, funny and nice.

Are you currently working on any other projects that you would like to share with me?
I’m currently writing A Different Side which is the story from Raven Davenport’s POV from the University Park Series.
